Nice to have a president who knows of and follows the basic tenets of diplomacy – first get to meet in person the people with whom you will be dealing so you have at least an idea of their character. Then test your estimate with a discussion of policies. Afteward, think back over the experience, confer with your advisors, and devise a way to approach the heads of state on other issues. That’s Biden’s approach and the only one with a chance of achieving his goals.
The previous tenant at 1600 usually shot off his mouth before his brain was loaded, with chaos as the result. If intelligence was gun powder, he couldn’t blow his nose.
It’s just so refreshing to have a president who is not a flaming a$$hole. Trump was (still is) an international embarrassment that degraded the standing of the USA in the world. Good riddance to bad garbage.
I’m simply enjoying watching Pres. Biden walking around, (no golf cart for him!) meeting with the others, smiling, talking, even laughing and not pushing anyone aside to get in front. Hasn’t sat at a desk with arms folded across chest pouting. Feels good.
Nancy Pelosi goes scorched earth on Trump while praising Joe Biden’s approach to ‘thug’ Putin
At the tail end of an long interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) blistered former president Donald Trump over his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin who she bluntly described as a “thug.”
“Now let’s just make a contrast,” she began. “The president — former president of the United States, for whatever reason, whether the Russians had personal, political or financial leverage over him, kowtowed, catered to Putin in a way that was humiliating to the United States of America. And when, when Putin hears about some of the violations of the rights of his own people, he laughs.”
“This is a thug. This is a thug,” she repeated. “But he is head of an important state in terms of the issues you raise. The president should meet with him, and I think he’s going to meet a very different president than one who was at the mercy of Putin.”
I’m so very happy to have a president with common decency – who does not waddle about grabbing ladies by their ‘organs of matrimonial necessity’ – as the estimable Stephen Fry hath described it.
POTUS was asked to day how he is going to handle Putin (Killer.) POTUS laughed mutter something unintelligible and walked off. We pretty much know how Putin will handle Biden, “Show the proof! The Big Guy!”

It IS nice. And I’d like to get so used to it that I don’t really notice it anymore except as a fact, not a contrast.

And you would have thought Trump would be cautious around a maniac running a country. Correct me if I’m wrong; he called him Rocket Man?

According to Sun Tzu in the Art of War, the first thing to do in warfare is to disrupt the enemy’s plans. I’m not sure Trump had a plan.
The second thing is to disrupt the enemies alliances. Trump did this better than any adversary could hope to accomplish.

Trump took his know nothing, gum chewing daughter along. She managed to embarrass us all, and too dumb to realize it.

Nice to have a president (again) who actually studies and understands the issues before spouting ignorant biased pablum pandering to his Trumpanzees.
