The delta variant seems to be something on the order of 300 times as virulent (though apparently not much more deadly… once you do catch it). Both the two-jab vaccines appear to work well against it, though you MUST GET BOTH to get significant advantage. However, if you choose to be innumerate and unwise, you might find yourself 300 times as likely to get it. Even if there are fewer idjits around to give it to you.
Since I went into anaphylactic shock with a flu shot, doctor told me not to have the COVID vaccine until I could get tested for allergies. I’m living in senior housing; most of the other residents are fully vaccinated and though we are still supposed to be wearing masks inside the building, most of them aren’t. (So I spend most of my time in my unit). I got the allergy test; they said my reaction was minor, but, because of my history, I need to have the vax done at the hospital. (Of course, its the one furthest from where I live). So I have an appointment for it, but now my oxygenation is down. So I may actually have COVID…
My wife’s grandmother, mother, and one sister, as well as my wife and I have all been vaccinated. She has one sister who, along with her partner, have apparently not gotten vaccinated for unknown reasons.
My wife says that her sister will NOT be allowed to visit Grandma (who is mid 80s) until she is vaccinated – and she’ll drive down there to stop her from visiting.
Though there’s only about a 1 in 10,000 chance of catching Covid after being vaccinated, I’m with my wife on this. There is no need or reason to chance it.
In 1962 I spent 16 days in sickbay aboard ship after getting a "LIVE FLU VACCINE " . Have a flu shot probably 50 times since the vaccine wasn’t live .No FLU BUT HAD PNEUMONIA 9 TIME IN 11 YEARS that I worked in tunnels until a new Doctor thought to tell me about a pneumonia vaccine. Been doing great ever since. Got both covid shots as soon as I could in Feb. DON’T BE REPUBNORANT OR STUPID—— VAC ASAP.

“Dagnabbit”! the patient grumbles under his breath, “Why did I have to catch the Trump flu now”?

Even after the strong antibody cocktail, germophobic 45 still was vaccinated, so why are his supporters so frightened by the vaccine?

…believes it is all a hoax, so get him out of the hospital and make room for the good people in the area who need it.

The un-vaccinated are partly protected by the vaccinated. An unfortunate and unforeseen consequence that can’t be helped.

At least he’s not in an induced coma for a respirator, so he can be aware of visitors…

It made my day to see all these heartfelt good wishes being extended to a person with a legitimate concern. Thank you all.
