Funny, but when Republicans wanted to do away with the filibuster in 2017, Democrats were up in arms. Talk about wearing pants backwards.

I think the filibuster should remain. But for gods sake, stop with the current BS of any senator only having to say the word filibuster to bring everything to a screeching halt.

Make them get up and defend their POV. Go back to the version before the current bit of stupid. Back when the calls for filibuster were few and far between. Back before Newt Gingrich was Speaker, back in the day when Rs understood how the US Govt was designed to work. THAT WAY BEING COMPROMISE Before the Rs changed the meaning of the word, the new meaning? Compromise=Do it my way or it will never get passed. Period. All the tea baggers and the current GQP want is to win that days news cycle against the Ds. The vast majority of the current qpublicans in congress are willfully ignorant of what it means to Govern. Because of trump, they have no plans, no policies they want to implement, no ideas. They only want POWER. They think of the Democratic Party as enemies, not as another Party, but think as if they are in another cold war, not against the USSRBut against Democrats. Who are also citizens of the US

Do I care who was behind the updated version? No. Because R or D it was stupid. In 2017, the Democrats were in the minority, so the Party in favor of dumping it would have been the Rs, with the Ds wanting to keep it.(no way in the world would the Ds have wanted to dump the filibuster in 2017) Now the boot is on the other foot, with some Ds screaming to get rid of it, while the Rs want desperately to keep it(remember when the Rs refused to vote for any Obama judicial appointments? they did it for more than 2 years, Reid finally changed the rule from needing 60 votes to a simple majority, McTurtle said he would regret that. When the Rs took over in 2016, first thing McTurtle did after trump was elected was to change the rule for SC justices to a simple majority)
