Senator Manchin is doing what Senator Manchin has ALWAYS done – watched out for #1. Recent polling shows that Manchin’s stand on civil rights, the voting rights bill, and several other key issues supported by Manchin’s political party are supported by a large majority of West Virginia constituents – this doesn’t bother Senator Manchin, however, because he knows that the people who continue to reelecting him, term after term, are (1) not the ones who answer polling, and (2) if they DID answer polls, would lie like rugs while doing it
Senator Manchin is a consummate politician, he knows who votes for him and why – just like “Moscow Mitch” McConnell and Nancy Pelosi! The great, unwashed masses of voters (us) may not grasp how they stay in office, but, trust me, they understand how their world works and are quite comfortable living in it, and manipulating those around them to stay there
