Not easy to find a cap of the same design that you liked very much.

Ball caps wear out?

It looks like it’s going in the recycling bin. I don’t think that’s the best place for it.

Didn’t think that they threw them away—thought they earned an honored spot on a shelf ! ! ! !

I have a “deck cap” from each of the USN ships and units to which I was associated. Faded, over 60 years old, treasured and still worn 6/14, 7/4, 10/13 and 11/11 each year. More recent caps are my collection of NY Rangers hats garnered 1 a year for every year I had a season ticket to Madison Square Garden.

A “Cheers” empty keg moment ;-(

Actually, few Pluggers are wearing ball caps here in North Florida. Is that a local thing or a national trend?

It a sad moment, like losing an old pal.

I replace my ball caps when they fall apart and won’t stay on my head. Good thing they don’t go out of style because my main cap is like 8-10 years old. Getting a bit faded and frayed from washing, but still hanging in there.

I thought they could get comfortably broken in, at worst.

What??? My ball cap is not worn out!

It takes a while to get a new ball cap broken in. You have to try several different notches on the headband before you find the right one, and then there is the entire process of getting the bill to curve just right.

That’s how I felt throwing away my favorite slippers a couple of weeks ago!

When I got a license plate that said “NUMBER 3” I had to get a Dale Earnhardt ball cap. I’m on my third intimidator cap now; but the first two are still hanging on their pegs.

I don’t think I’ve ever worn out a baseball cap. … some are a little ratty, but they still stay put on my head so…

Except it doesn’t happen like this. MRS. Plugger takes the old one and throws it out, and Mr. Plugger has no choice in the matter!

And a Major life decision also.
