Three of our cats and one of our dogs were from shelters. Another cat was given to us by friends who could not keep a cat in their new location and the last cat was a foundling. One of the other dogs was a gift from a patient. And the last dog is the runt of the first (and last) litter of the first two dogs. They were all cooped up in our house in San Francisco until we moved up here. They all love it. Papers? Yah, we have papers for all the poopies. Mostly the classified section.
Appreciate the beautiful meaning of today’s Overboard! I always tell people who ask about my dog, that she’s a rescue, in hope that it will inspire them to adopt from an animal shelter/rescue. BTW, She is the best, sweetest, smartest pup, and we are so lucky to have her.
All of my babies were rescues. My oldest was adopted by my son as a gift to me. He is a Maine Coon and I had always wanted one. My son found my second Maine Coon hiding in a bush, screaming after her family abandoned her at his apartment building. My third was thrown out at my apartment four days into the lockdown.

I tried to get on Connie’s back when I was little. It never worked.

What a neat thought! Unfortunately illegal fireworks are freaking out our fur kids…

If you’re lucky, you can get a Louie that isn’t drawn to mud like a magnet.

And good work it is, Louie.

All my shelter dogs needed a LOT of training. Sweet dispositions and fortunately house broken, but otherwise clueless.

this is adorable but Please don’t let kids sit on the backs of dogs. They are not built to be ridden on like ponies.
