    There were people who said it was stupid when President Taft said the President should have automobiles for transportation. One of them being his predecessor, T. Roosevelt.

    The point of the coal-burning stove trailing behind is that coal is used to generate electric power. Payne ignores the fact coal’s share in electricity generation has been dropping for years:

    While it has largely been supplanted by natural gas, we can see from the chart above that wind has also been gaining share over the past several years.
