I wonder how the history books will treat Trump’s presidency. Will he be looked upon as the man that nearly destroyed democracy in the US? Will he be considered just an incompetent boob or an outright criminal?
It should be noted that Trump’s “mentor”, V. Putin, applauds the actions of the Belarus dictator, which means that he would not object if the West were to hijack or otherwise kidnap any of the indicted Russian conspirators involved in the 2016 election here in America.
And, not incidentally, a coup just like the one Trump tried to pull off just occurred in Samoa (not OUR Samoa – the one next door to ours!) The current dictator locked the doors of Parliament and wouldn’t let the newly elected Prime Minister in to be duly sworn in.
All responsible nations should cancel/revoke any and every reciprocal agreement they might have with their own airlines and Belarus airlines, e.g., deny landing privileges for them and, if possible, deny parts to maintain Belarus’s plane fleet and deny money transfers into and out of Belarus. Lukashenko is clearly a full-blown psychopathic despot, loved as a lapdog by Putin & admired to the point of giddiness by Trump, a long-time wannabe Putin lapdog.
What does that responder mean by NEARLY destroying democracy? Look at Az. recounting ballots, then moving to Michigan. Look at the Rethugnikkkans restricting the vote in every state in which they are a majority. So democracy has been besmirched by Typhoid Donnie, and his stain will remain. Hence, It Can Happen Here.

Lukashenko doesn’t have to worry about what the rest of the world thinks — his fellow dictator Vlad the Terrible has his back.

Reminds me of the famous “Twilight Zone” episode with Will Shatner and the plane destroying gremlin.
