If all the kids (including me when I was one) would put the same effort for their school stuff as they do for their summer stuff, they would all be straight A Students.
Bravado and defensiveness are dripping off Agnes’ speech balloons. Trout clearly has her number. Hope there are some good reruns for her (or them?) to watch this summer.
