About time that Democrats got wise to the GOP game plan. When they play to win anyway and I do mean ANYWAY that they can.So we have a saying in California, fight fire with fire. Seems to work for wild fires pretty well. Perhaps we play by their rules for a little while until we get democracy back.
In panel one. What if Donald Trump replaced Lucy and Kevin McCarthy replaced Charlie Brown? Then replace the word “bipartisanship” on the football with “The Big Lie”, replace “GOP” on the front of Lucy’s dress with “The Boss”, and replace the “Dems” label with “McCarthy” on Charlie’s shirt. That would be an interesting Cartoon given Lucy’s thoughts.
Just about right, Mike. It has taken the Dems too long to catch on although with some major issues pending I am not sure that they have walked away completely yet.
They have to move quickly on the infrastructure. If Manchin still wants to be the holdout then he can explain any major WV disaster to his constituents; just like the TN and MS elected can explain their Memphis bridge (1 of 2 there) shut down for two months.
Related Note: Government always has a problem being proactive and maintaining a preventative mentality. In my region of MI the Governor is taking a lot of crap because of her demands re Line 5 belonging to Canada’s Enbridge company. She’s right though. If it pops then it will be an ecological disaster for the Great Lakes that will rival BP’s flustercuck in the Gulf.
GOP bipartisanship is usually defined by acquiescing to whatever the GOP wants. Wasn’t it McConnell who stated the “bipartisan” comment: ‘Elections have consequences.’
Biden has 65% approval, crooked liar Trump never got above 49%, republicans stand at 23% approval, Dems should do what they want and never mind the negative right wing doom sayers.
I hope Biden and Pelosi do not take the bait. As said throughout these replies, Republican/conservatives play the ‘win at all costs’ method of politics and WE, the People pay the price with recessions and inflation.
Every single Republican/conservative president has had a depression or recession, some had two. They prove they cannot manage an economy or govern.
Let us take a moment and pray that this is so. Obama was a better president after he quit caring what the Republicans said or did. Hopefully it won’t take Joe as long to figure the same lesson out.
A majority of American voters support the Democrats policies — the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, the American Rescue Plan, the American Jobs Plan, et al. Forty percent or so of Republican voters are among that majority.
So, yes, Biden has bipartisan support. It’s the Republican Reps and Senators that are out of touch.
Charlie Brown may not have figured out Lucy’s playbook- but Joe Biden has cottoned onto Moscow Mitch’s quite well. It’s SOOOooo nice to have a president in the oval office who is a sane, intelligent, Decent human being.
In the end he left her there alone of the football field. Sometimes, if you listen very carefully in the dead of night at the new moon you can hear her screaming “YOU BLOCKHEAD!”

The Republicans want all the cake, but will settle for 75% of the cake. Bipartisanship.

that’s cause the GOP keeps deflating the voting so they’ll win. Imagine that a cheating Republican.

The downside to the GOP becoming weak is then we are a one-party system. Very VERY BAD

Where’s spellcheck when it’s needed?
Today’s Republicans only believe in buy-partisanship. I.e., they expect everyone to buy into their partisanship.
