But Republicans still think we shouldn’t modernize American infrastructure. I guess they don’t know that includes cyber-security.

I had some Trumpnut telling me the govt has no business with providing cybersecurity. Even Mr. Ramirez isn’t that stupid it seems!! Too bad Moscow Mitch took orders from Vlad and shot down the increase in budget for cybersecurity under Obama. Now all of a sudden, the Repubs are claiming they were for the cybersecurity. Another Big Lie to add to the 1000s.

I grew up terrified of seeing mushroom clouds signalling the end to civilization. This new threat to life as we know it… albeit just as serious… is quite harder to wrap my brain around. What does seem apparent is that… sooner or later, one way or another…. a Mad Maxian world will become a reality.

The first attack in future wars will probably not be planes dropping bombs but cyber on computer networks, infrastructure, etc. The U.S. needs a cooperative effort between private business and government to combat these threats.

If the GOP had their way, we would be living in the times of the 1940-1950’s. They’re as backward as they come, with the same mindset….

Americas “might” is poorly positioned for cyber attacks. What disappoints me (not that it matters) is that those infected don’t share how they were compromised. I know it may be embarrassing, but for the greater good it would enable others to harden their defences. It also speaks poorly of the programing ability of the “good guys” that they can’t solve the puzzle and come up with a patch to defeat the encryption.

These attacks are increasing. Hamas and otehrs are now testing their boundaries with a new administration. Some of that is normal but some of that may be that some of these bad actors view biden as weak. Well, whether that true or not, biden needs to be tough instead of just making up stories where he’s tough or challenging a fat old guy to a push up contest. Putin may not be directly responsible for dark sky but he’s not doing a damn thing to stop them. If he doesn’t cooperate with the US efforts to find these punks he should suffer some consequences. We do have the capability to harass their infrastructure with cyber attacks. Let’s see what biden does. My guess is nothing but maybe he’ll surprise me.

DJT ordered a cyber-security to be developed early in his administration. The DemocRats ridiculed the idea. Old Joe could not even muster any sanctions against Russia other than a “slap” on Putin’s wrist! Come on, man!

The Russians are the republicans best friends in the world.

Putin got a 40% cut of the $5 million ransom the pipeline paid to Russia.

Remember when Trump sent his polling data to Russia so they could target American audiences with pro Trump propaganda?

How are the GQP going to destroy Democracy if they permit companies and organizations to harden their cybersecurity so the Russians can’t get into our critical data to hobble the country’s responses? That will make Comrade President Putin very, very angry. His strings on Comrade Former President Trump will be useless.

It used to be that the people of the United States were immune to the effects of war, strife and conflict. We sat over here in North America, fat and happy, while everyone else struggled along, snapping and fighting each other. We only got involved when we felt like it. Like Will Rogers said, “Good fences make god neighbors.” The Atlantic and Pacific Oceans are some great fences.

Those days are gone. Now they can reach out and touch us, at will.

Welcome to the party. Hope you’re prepared because it’s going to get ugly.

What you think Putin has had his government doing the last four years while the previous American was kissing his rear end? Coincidence? Only a fool believes that. Russian cyberhackers don’t target foreign companies with their ransomware because Russian companies don’t have money; it’s likely collaboration with Russian Oligarchs with something to gain.

The guns are redundant! My then-husband completed his master’s degree at the Naval Postgraduate School In Monterey in March, 1989, in Antisubmarine Warfare (ASW) (technical skills, systems engineering). This was for the Navy to continue using sonar to detect Soviet submarines from various platforms, ships, helicopters, US submarines, to name a few. However, Communism and the Berlin Wall fell 8 months after his degree was conferred. Needless to say, as we were nearing the twenty-first century, ASW was becoming redundant for the US Navy. Granted, the technical skills were, and with addition training still are invaluable. However, many of the non- tech courses he took were on Soviet policy. He also took some on Soviet culture and society; those were ones I could read the texts and articles that he could bring home and discuss education and childcare issues. Some policy issues needed top secret clearance (not brought home), so I was excluded. Oh well….

Since they can’t beat the U. S. in a conventional conflict, America’s enemies are spending most of their money on winning the cyberspace, which will be much more effective. America’s military/industrial complex makes much more money selling conventional weapons, so…

On Monday, regarding the Colonial Pipeline Hack, Deputy National-Security Adviser for Cyber and Emerging Technologies Anne Neuberger said: “So, typically, that is a private-sector decision, and the administration has not offered further advice at this time.” In what universe does the Biden administration, which seems to want pretty much every aspect of American life to fall under the purview of the state, believe that ransom demands made against core energy infrastructure is outside of its remit? (It is amazing how fast the Biden administration can distance themselves!)What also amazes me is that preventing hacks is not all that difficult. It requires procedures, protocols, common sense, and some monitoring. It’s fairly straight forward not expensive and yet our government servers are constantly getting hacked due to really stupid errors. Before I retired I used to get a free weekly email regarding IT security featuring the top whitepapers and webcasts. I know the Russians were reading them. (I looks to me like the Russians are using 3 year old whitepapers as playbooks for their hacking.) Perhaps more IT professionals in the US should be reading those whitepapers as well???

We squander two trillion on the F-35 before conceding it’s a total piece of junk. Our enemies spend a couple hundred thousand to steal our most advanced technology. Drones are the future of air combat, cyber-security is the most essential defense in any future combat scenario.

Look at all the TDS libtards and RINOs with their lies and propaganda. On his 111th day in office, President Trump signed an Executive Order overhauling the nation’s cyber security as much as possible under his authority. Then he went to congress and requested that they hammer out a bill to do what he could not. As a result President Trump signed H.R. 3359 the Cybersecurity and INFRASTRUCTURE Security Agency Act of 2018 into law. The Colonial hack had nothing to do with any perceived Trump inactions. The Colonial Pipeline Company was warned several times by National security assets against cyberattacks and they did nothing. Had President Trump remained in office Russia would never have allowed the Colonial hack. But, with slow weak Joe showing such a lack of leadership, the hackers felt they could get away with this with little repercussion. They were right what with Biden’s groveling response that Putin wasn’t involved. President Trump wouldn’t have cared and would have demanded Putin take action against the hackers or suffer sanctions. But again, if Trump was still in office they wouldn’t have dared this hack.
