The company I work for has a four day work shop on lean manufacturing. ALL are required to take the class. 4 days of wasted time and BS. Norm nailed it.
I’ve been to too many corporate classes just like that. I’ve also been to very interesting ones that had absolutely nothing to do with my job. At least those went faster.
I had to go to a “motivational speech” by one of the Apollo 11 astronauts (I won’t say which one) on a Saturday. I was actually looking forward to it but he turned out to be so deadly boring that I had difficulty staying awake. 20 years later I got to attend a conference with one of the space shuttle commanders as the keynote speaker. He was much better.
