People rarely like to be splained. In fact I can only think of one person who ever asked for a splaining.

And maybe dab some paint on her cheek, to check the viscosity. Explain that paint cannot be judged on just one surface, and she must let it dry for an accurate assessment.

I don’t know, I’m still leaning towards, womanaging . Like micro-managing.

Never understood why mansplaining is a bad thing. My wife is always thankful she has someone to turn to when she wants a technical explanation. For instance, where we live the septic drain field is called a leach field. She was afraid that actual leeches where buried in the field to promote decay of the waste. When I explained it to her, I wasn’t condescending. I just took the opportunity to give her additional knowledge. No different than a teacher does in school. Not “mansplaining”; just passing on important information.

I was talking to this girl the other day, describing in great detail about mansplaining but she totally didn’t get it.

It was a JOKE, people. Geez!

Well, if someone hadn’t poked a zillion holes in the formerly perfect wall just to hang a few pictures………

My wife and I explain only on request. Arlo’s correct answer here is:“Yes, (but it’s dry and too late to do anything about.)“No. (It will be fine)“No. (I’ll fix it with the 2nd coat)

If a man mansplains to another man rather than to a woman, is it still mansplaining?

Men believe themselves to be authorities on every subject, and will attempt to prove it to ANYONE. But when two men are trying to out-knowledge each other, it may still be patronizing and passive-aggressive but it is not sexist.

You have the right to remain silent. Should you refuse that right, any thing you say can and will be held against you, in perpetuity.

They really hate it when call them out on this.

“Womansplaining”, though probably a thing, is too long a mouthful. What about “femsplaining”?

Also, that is not what Janis is doing. She is micro-managing: giving more instruction than needed or desired.

It’s not womansplaining, as much as nagging.

When I painted the kitchen walls, the dribbling under the ceiling was so bad I had to cover it with a ceiling border.
