I would really like to see some kind of fairness doctrine instituted. No idea HOW to do that without treading on 1st amendment rights, though: Where is the division between journalism and personal communication?
Since your congressman or favorite knucklehead faux commentator/ radio host knows so much about medicine the next time you sprain, cut, burn, or break a body part don’t go to the hospital. Go directly to your nearest tv or radio station to get their advice. If that doesn’t work go directly to Washington D.C.
The minute that news became unvetted, unreliable, opinionated, entertainment instead of unbiased reporting of rigorously verified, factual information was the first major victory for the anti-democracy extremists.
I am in the fully vaccinated group. I tested negative for Covid-19 in early January. I got me first shot later that month and the second in early February. While I was still a bit uneasy, I felt reasonably safe flying from FL to MN and back to meet my darling, brand spanking new (2 months old) granddaughter in March. I am appreciative of all my fellow passengers who had the good sense to wear masks.
It is time to start saying the ongoing nature of this pandemic is the fault of group #3. And those who encourage this refusal to wear masks and get vaccinated are simply bad people.
Last Sunday’s John Oliver showed a news clip of a guy whose mother, who refused vaccination, got sick and was now in a hospital on a ventilator. When the son was asked if he was now going to get vaccinated, he said “No. I don’t know if the vaccine is safe”. !!!!! You really can’t change stupid.
Let’s all praise Trump who singlehandedly developed the vaccines in record time. Let’s not get the shots because they were rushed into production.
Fact Check: Operation Warp Speed (possibly the only productive thing Trump did in 4 years) only cut some of the red tape involved in the approval process. Companies did not start from ground zero and have been working on the SARS family of viruses (of which Covid is a member) for decades. The vaccines underwent all the scientific tests required.
Fact Check: The virus is safe. Hundreds of millions of shots and less than a one in a million chance of fatality. We detected that early, called it off and now know how to treat that condition. If you don’t like these odds, don’t leave your house, in fact, stay in bed. Your chances of being struck by lightning are 1 in 700,000.
Fact Check: If you want to keep the government from tracking you, don’t carry your phone, don’t use a credit card, don’t visit any public places where their may be surveillance cameras.

The Latino and African American communities continue to be under vaccinated. Instead of repeating the same news story over and over (lone white guy moron), Mr. Stahler should use his creative talents to encourage the underserved communities to get vaccinated, in a non-judgmental way.
Why do these ’toons always portray the anti-vaxxer as a white male? There are more brown and black people of both sexes who are avoiding getting vaccinated.
That’s probably the same podcast that is stopping sensible gun control, reasonable abortion policy.. the big lie that trump is continuing to stoke. Just a guess.. but likely hosted by a Fox News commutator.
To the gentleman listening to his podcast. Dear Sir, why don’t you take a trip and visit the Taj Mahal? India is doing so well without vaccinations and the like. It should be lovely this time of year, all the funeral pyres in bloom. . . /s*
Not many years ago a couple of people in front of me in the checkout line were eyeing the tabloids in the rack. One said the stuff in them was too ridiculous to be true. The other one said, “Oh, no, it must be true. They wouldn’t let it be printed if it wasn’t.” I wondered who he thought “They” were, but kept my big mouth shut.
They are finding a new side effect of the shot. People stressing themselves into thinking they are having side effects. :-/
The irony of all this, Fox News requires all of their staff to be vaccinated, many jumping ahead of the line to get theirs. The also require mask wearing, except when in front of the camera. Many are still working at home. as well.
This makes their contribution to the vaccine reluctant that much more egregious.
A week or so ago, my Trumper nephew was complaining that Trump should be given credit for getting the COVID vaccines fast-tracked… now his excuse for not getting vaccinated is “they brought out the vaccines too fast”…
Thank the gods that anti-vax idiots were not around when the polio vaccine made polio extinct. We are infected with a mass stupidity virus from the vectors of greed, power, politics, ignorance, and cynicism.

Fully one half of all Americans have below average IQs. For them, we must keep things simple. Get vaccinated, or we will beat the s%%t out of you.
