True story. Someone did throw out a hard drive with bitcoins on it, searched the whole tip but never found it.

Stay away from Bitcoins!! You’ll be financially better for it unless your a great whiz at technology.
Weekend Update on last SNL with Elon Musk clarified crypto currency-not! BTW, I thought Musk did a great job hosting, and naming his Asperger’s.
Anecdotally this or losing the hard drive seems to happen often enough. Makes one wonder just how much unclaimed/lost value there is in the whole batch.
