It’s about time we upgraded the infrastructure of this country. It is a great Bill. I look forward to bridges not collapsing, dams not failing, getting lead pipes replaced, getting actually functioning internet across the country, and a rail service not hampered by freight rail and political attempts to kill it. That’s ALL infrastructure. So are school buildings. So are energy upgrades. There’s a lot more that’s infrastructure, too. Frankly, I think education and health care are infrastructure too, since they are essential elements needed to make this country operational. And we have been putting it off, kicking that can down the road for decades. If we don’t do it now, it’ll only be more expensive later.
This is why we call Bottomliners a political cartoon. Gocomics doesn’t cancel it. Rather it respects readers commenting from opposing perspectives — unlike too many self righteous newspapers. Thank you Teltelbaums and Gocomics.
@cdward – If the “Bill” was just for what you described it would be mostly except-able.However, the bill is filled with “pork” to bail out DemocrRat states, cities and other noninfrastructure areas. Plus it gives the “Fed’s” total control of how the monies are implemented.
The Dems have to stop with the bipartisanship garbage now that McConnell has pulled out his Obstruction 2010 Playbook. He has made it unequivocally clear that he and his National Socialist Party will fight to block everything.
Dems still think that the Marquess of Queensberry Rules apply in a street knife fight that they could not recognize they were in 10 years ago. Cool Joe and Backups have to get it passed in the next six months. I really want to see how Hillbilly Blue Ridge Mountain WV Joe is going to align with the GOPQ and explain it to his constituency of idiots.
Six months should be enough time for the wealthy to figure out how they will benefit directly from this Bill. It should also give plenty of time for the corporations that benefit from an improved infrastructure to set up supporting campaigns….starting with UPS, FedEx, Besos.
China poured more concrete in the last decade then we did in the entire last century we are decades behind and our bridges damns and freeway overpasses are falling on cars and killing people .
Both Republicans and Democrats use these roads time to quit the bitching and pass this bill .

“But, but, but…” says McConnell, “It’s not a Republican plan….”.

Depending on how your owner voted, that might actually be in the bill.
