Wonder if she got scared of the main villain in Recess Schools Out due to his plan of prevent recess (and summer break) all around.

I acutely disliked recess in grade school. The teachers MADE us leave the warm spot by the building and go out into the wind. Wasn’t as bad as PE though which was where the teachers encouraged the kids who were older or better coordinated to hurt the other ones with thrown balls or by tackling them to the gravel…

I actually got into a similar debate concerning lunch breaks at my tech school. :)

Back in the 60s in California, we were allocated 5-minute recesses to use the bathroom and 20 minute recesses for playing. Lunch was 45 minutes, so the quicker you ate, the longer you got to play.
