In the mists of distant antiquity….I was with a woman for a long time. She found someone better (hurts to admit but that was true). It was painful. Many months later I began to date (much to my surprise) a younger & hotter woman. Inadvertently, we ran into my old friend with her new b/f. Old g/f got her noise out of joint. I learned from mutual friends that she reached out to ask about the new significant other. As she got more data she disparaged my new friend to the mutual friends….which is why several mutual friends let me know about that…. I took a childish glee in that & doubled down in being nice to my new friend.
