Yeah. But bear in mind that even the courts in those states tend to tip so far right that they cannot stand up without support. I suspect, too, that even this SCOTUS will overturn such laws. Eventually.
What’s the problem? People still have their First Amendment right to gather and protest. And now I have my un-Constitutional right to drive over them like a tank through Tiananmen Square. Everybody’s happy.
I would never run over MAGA protesters with my little blue bug, it is worth to much. I would use my $1000 beater Dakota. Plus the Dakota would do more damage.
In the 18th century, European “rule BY law” [an authoritarian person/ruler] was replaced with “rule OF law” allowing the people to challenge/protest a law that did not serve the populace. Are Iowa and Oklahoma trying to return to 18th century “rule BY [authoritarian] law”
I saw a man in a pick-up flying a big “F### BIDEN” flag last week. Mentioned that to a fellow parishioner after Mass; he said that he had seen one also. During the past 5 years of criticism and calumny heaped on Trump’s head neither of us remember a “F### TRUMP” flag or poster on public display.
Something I have never quite understood.. evidently, there is a “Stand Your Ground” laws in some states.. where, if you feel threatened.. you may respond by shooting said threatening person. And yet, when police get shot.. while threatening.. everyone throws a hissy fit.
Wow! But think about it. The moment someone runs over a MAGA, Proud Boy, Blue Lives Matter, or Libertarian who is rallying (they won’t call it a protest) in the streets, the driver will not be protected by the very law Republicans passed.
Similar to Stand Your Ground. Only applies to certain people in those states.
I sure am glad to see that Ted and the rest of you are all for the murder of police officers. But, I bet if someone drew a picture of a protestro being run over, you would all be “outraged,” right?
The law grant immunity if the driver feels that they are in danger from protestors. So it doesn’t actually grant any real additional immunity at all for most of the right wing nut jobs who have decided to just run over people.

I wonder if targeting the police and/or the white supremacists who are acting as provocateurs would be okay to target.

Time to prosecute irresponsible legislators whose unconstitutional laws result in death.

Yes, this, exactly. “They looked like protesters to me.”

Theodore’s VW Beetle is vintage, the trunk is in the front. It must be well loaded to pull off that kind of front end carnage.

So will the protesters be able to shoot at those drivers under those states’ “Stand Your Ground” laws?

So ANTIFA can legally run down protesting KKK, Proud Boys, Boogaloos, etc., and most MAGAs without interference?
