Nothing much to celebrate here, except a small step forward for equal justice, maybe!! One man murdered, and another likely to spend the better part of the rest of his life in prison, – an ex cop in prison usually doesn’t fare well.
And thank you to Keith Ellison and the prosecution team. The experts who explained complicated “stuff” so people like me could understand. The officers who testified because they believed Chauvin was not following police policies. The “crowd”, 9 to 61, who gave witness to the killing of Mr Floyd. The 17 yr old young woman who kept recording Mr Floyd’s murder.
Silly Billy just does not get it but that’s the inherent nature of a MAGAt thought process.
Every honest, ethical and just police chief should make Chauvin the poster child on their stations’ bulletin boards to remind the decent cops that they have to weed out the sociopaths and nut jibs. It’s for their own self-interests as well as restoring the trust and a good reputation of enforcement. Police chiefs might take a hint from the investigation of Minneapolis police operations now starting. Bogus false “incident report” about George Floyd is a good starting point.
Now the time is ripe for the Dems to create a higher standard for the recruitment and training of those who are given a gun with a badge. Should be passed by the end of year with a contingency to conform to it or forego supplementary federal funds.
Chauvin sentence: 20 yrs low with no parole to 30 high…if he should live so long. Appeals denied.

Good thing he wasn’t tried by the losers in the US Senate.

Bless you for fulfilling your duty as responsible citizens. May this be the first of many steps toward that promised justice for all.

Hard to lose this case when, thanks to the teen with the camera, there were millions of witnesses to the crime!

Nancy Pelosi said, “Thank you, George Floyd for sacrificing yourself for justice.” And she is Speaker of the House?

Kind of sad though that it takes a special “Thank You” just for carrying out your duty.

What does it say about the country that the case, with its witnesses and video, was ever in doubt?
