Just another vector for Covids.

Darwin says that TrumpubliQans are now going to be self-selecting to suppress their own voters, in the cruelest possible way.

Before there was widespread availability of vaccines, TrumpubliQans’ reckless disregard for public safety put not only themselves at risk, but also others such as essential workers who did not have the luxury of avoiding risky exposure, especially in states or working for employers who had little or no enforcement of safety standards.

While we are not there yet, as we approach the day when everyone who wants a vaccination is able to get one, and the only ones remaining self-selected for risk are the ones who choose that route, we will see Darwin do his party to weed out those who choose to be weeded out.

It will then just be a race between the vaccines and the variants … and the varmints who serve as the petri dishes in which those variants are nurtured.

On another note, I got me mark of the beast today. That is my first dose of the Pfizer Covid vaccine. Long story short, involving a conversation on the CB last week with another trucker. Started innocent enough, then I mentioned I had my appointment to get my first shot this weekend. Guy got into a tirade about the vaccines being the mark of the beast, and whatever the current conspiracy is, blah, blah, blah and then realized he took the wrong exit. LOL Somehow that was quite ironic.

To paraphrase the Bible “the dumb will always be with us”.

I checking out in a store on Friday when a fellow waltzed in without a mask. He announced he had had his shots, and “I’m good with it if you all are”. The cashier replied “We’re not” and handed him a mask. He looked startled, but he took it and put it on.

Sister-in-law works for an auto dealership, and the boss saw to it that everybody had their shots. Except for one fellow, who announced he was not getting the vaccine. No how, no way. The boss told him that was just fine, his decision, and all that, but “You will have to find another job”. When she talked to us, the guy hadn’t decided which option he would take. He was still stomping around muttering about “personal choices”.

Marty is an “American” hero, for the MAGA people.

See on tv jeff rossen (consumer reporter) got vaccinated. He’s 46 and appears healthy (and wealthy). At risk people are still waiting for a jab. I smell a rat.

Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan’s exchange with Dr. Fauci pretty much sums up the national angst. Apparently to Mr. Jordan, wearing a mask and distancing is as severe a threat to “liberty and freedom” as is any conversation on gun violence. /s

The Mark of the Beast has been around a while indeed. Back in the bad old days I was in a GemCo fixing a scanner and a lady pushed her cart into the checklane behind me even through I had the scanner spread all over the place and wasn’t wearing an orange store employee’s vest. She proceeded to lecture me about how I was supporting Satan by fixing a machine that used The Mark of the Beast. What was in her cart? A case of Jack Daniels and about 50 cans of cat food. Eventually she figured out I couldn’t check her out and wandered off to a different checklane — one that was open.

The only real government conspiracy is that by convincing them to not get the vaccine or even just wear a mask they’ve made themselves more vulnerable, and the “libtards” can ever so easily make the Right Wing thin out their own herd by doing nothing at all. Takes zero effort and costs them no money at all, AND it saves resources for the “libtards” who’ll end up outliving the Right Wing. It’s simply brilliant! I’m impressed!

What we NEED is a really good “prison planet” where we can just drop idiots off to fend for themselves. Eventually, I presume, they’d fix ol’ Marty (or he’d do it to himself)… and the results might actually happen faster than in a more civilized place. See, for instance, Australia. Getting the vaccine is a personal decision, like worshiping God, choosing a job, having children. Outsiders have no input into the decision. Berating a person for their decision that is different from yours is not only bullying but no different than the schoolyard bully. Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one, but too many people use it for communication instead of defecation.
