The house cat will survive. Even in the face of dwindling venues to rest upon.

Looks to me like Jimmy J. has missed (at least) one.

Weren’t the Egyptians worshipping cats even before the Ten Commandments were “written”?

Huh. My cat never liked sitting on my desk. At least not unless I left the room and accidentally left a morsel of food for him to sneak. Wasn’t much of a lap cat, either. He preferred to sit next to me.

Your attention should always be focused on The Cat. They are first and foremost.

Perfect. Also purrfect, as is obvious from the universal expression of contentment on certain faces.

Hubby and I enjoy working jigsaw puzzles, and the cat wants to “help” – if you can call it that. Generally, Eddie’s help is a signal we need to quit for a while.

Cats. Mine likes to watch TV, especially the animal shows on Youtube. I think his favorite is the lions chasing anything. He really likes the new fangled mouse traps too.

You just have to give a cat its own place. Here’s a pic of Amy Cat on her office chair next to mine: https://live.staticflickr.com/3682/11565668124_fb1db26a7e_c.jpg

As our handheld devices become smaller this becomes more difficult for cats. Fortunately for cats cell phones are now becoming foldable so cats can return to their rightful resting spot.

Moses didn’t write the tablets. Maybe it’s not Moses though he does look a little like Charleton Heston.

Cats got it all figured out. You’re born. You nap. You die. Simple.

My iPad sits upright on a table. Two of my cats like to get on the table and insert themselves between me and said iPad.

Put anything down, and a cat will either sleep on it or knock it on the floor. Except food, which will be eaten or knocked on the floor.

We once had a cat that would scrunch up her body and sit on my mouse pad. This was in the days of the ball mice. She didn’t go after the mouse at all, just wanted to sit on the mouse pad. It got so bad that I had to get an optical mouse because the mouse ball got full of cat hair.

I love the medieval manuscripts and Books of Days that have cat prints across the page. I’ve seen several including one where, apparently after the cat walked across the fresh ink, the illuminator drew a cat cartoon in the margins.

Right now there is one cat on my lap, another trying to sit on the keyboard and a third on the desk scrunched up between the computer and computer stand.

5/16 at sundown Shavuot begins, the day Moses came down and recited the 10 Commandments to the Israelite people in the wilderness. Quite possibly today’s Arlo & Janis is the JJ way of acknowledging this Holy Time of the Jewish Calendar.
