When will this stupid country face up to the fact that any “crisis at our southern border” is just our diseased chickens coming home to roost, due to the asinine, expensive, counter-productive, dehumanizing, corrupt War on Drug-Using Americans? Not only does that support the USA’s organized-crime syndicates by giving them an unregulated monopoly, it drives billions and billions of dollars per year into the greedy hands of the Latin American drug lords, criminal cartels, and corrupt governments, whose fights over all that American loot are what’s making life miserable for the average citizens of those countries.
It’s even worse in Afghanistan, home to 90% of the world’s opium poppies, where Americans are financing both sides of our longest-running war.
Wanna address the immigration “problem”? Legalize drugs! Turn their abuse into a medical issue, not a criminal one. Convert dealers from back-alley crooks to successful entrepreneurs, just as welcome in the Jaycees as the brewers and tavern owners were after the repeal of our original god-awful blunder with Prohibition!

Remember when that evil Nazi Reagan started her War On Drugs, which was republican code for war on black people?
Remember when Nixon was told by his counsels to legalize marijuana and he did not so he could war on hippies and anti war people?

When Joe Haldeman wrote that book way back in 1974, he did not expect it to come true.

Indeed. And that’s only the internal ‘wars’. There’s been pretty much a never ending war in some other country aver since WW2.
