Fortunately, President Biden doesn’t have to convince ANY Obstructionist Senators of the rightness of his infrastructure plans – the greatest bloc appears to be Senator Manchin – who object to raising the corporate tax to 28% – he wants no more than 25% – I would think think a compromise can be reached with Senator Manchin.
Senatorial republican wishes can be disregarded completely as they are at odds with what the vast desires of outside-the-Beltway wishes of republicans seem to be.
And, hopefully, after 2022, democrats, running on a platform of “republicans objecting to COVID relief” and “republicans objecting to infrastructure spending” and “republicans objecting to any type of gun reform”, democrats will build up a bit of a cushion in both the House and the Senate! We’ll see.
The republican party has solidified themselves as the national party of “NO” – we will see if that’s what America really wants!
How about we start with the bridges that are collapsing? Oh, I know, putting broadband in rural areas where we expect kids to learn in a 21st century society.
