I like well-hung window dressers, so long as they’re not constantly using me as a mannequin or draping themselves all over me.

I asked why she dressed in front of the open window. She said; “If they’ve seen it before, it’s nothing new. If they haven’t, they need the education.”

    Window dressers do it better.

The staff at Marshall Field’s made high art of window dressing, and their creativity is much missed at the flagship store, now occupied by miserable Macy’s….

    …Mz. T., great art today…

…I keep my hourglass in the top left dresser drawer…

…my looking glass in the the bottom right…

    …in high-school I walked a mile to my girlfriend’s house & then another to school…

…her bedroom window faced oncoming traffic off mainstreet…

…as I advanced, I saw her remove her nightshirt to put on her bra…

…unfortunately, so did the guy in the car behind me…

…the only thing that saved me was a stiff telephone pole…

…my gal…still only in her bra…ran out the house, past me, to the guy in the car…

…he was bleeding from a superficial head wound…

…she hugged him tightly and went on…

…“Oh John, oh John, are you badly hurt, darling?”…

…finally, she looked up at me…

…Skipper, I’m going to be late for school…

…be a darling, and carry my text books with you…

    …OK, I said joyfully…

…she maybe getting blood on her fancy turquoise bra for John…

…but that was just window dressing…

…I got to carry her 10 pounds of schoolboys a mile to school…

    …I was her steady eddie…

What I really miss is the Higbees Christmas display. It was so beautiful and animated. Higbees was in the famous movie The Christmas Story. However, The Bathmat factory managed to get the plans for their window displays and this coming Christmas, they have a real live treat in store for all of us. Sign up for our updates and specials….

    Y’all are misreading this.

It says, “Save it window for the dresser.”

I remember seeing a window dresser a long time ago, off Times Square. Actually, she was more of an un -dresser because she was slowly taking off her clothes. Then the window closed and I had to pay another $5.

…the raspberry tube top and the short short cut off jeans were put on two mannequins…

…one wore its hair butch and was blond…the other with an afro and shades…

…Andrew always thought they were looking at him as he walked by…

…the one with the fro seemed to have a devilish wicked smile and the other one of forbidden fruit…

…the were posed the same except in different directions…

…every day as Andrew walked by he became more enamoured by them…

    …he called them both Alice…

    …but he knew the difference…

…he looked forward to seeing them…

…and a happiness enveloped him just before greeting them each morning on the way to the cafe’…

…then, one day they were replaced by fall fashion divas…

…but a billboard across the street had a woman with a nice smile…

I’ve saved quite a bit of it over the past 14 months, and now that I’ve been vaccinated, I will be ready for nonessential public presentation once again. I must say, though, that the window dressers didn’t occur to me as the most deserving recipients of this accumulation.
