People talk about a bi-partisan effort and working across the aisle, consensus and compromise. But, first there has to be some agreement that something needs to be done, get a list of projects people can discuss and reach agreement on, come to agreement how to pay for them, then commit to a vote. What have the R’s agreed on? So far what we’ve heard is that the R’s will fight against everything in the current proposal, that it will not get one single R vote. End of discussion. Remember the effort to get the R’s on board for the Affordable Care Act, gradually watering down the proposal and working around obstructions, hearing about “death panels” and the usual R lies and misrepresentations, and finally not getting any R votes. Delay, obstruct, reject compromise. That appears to be all the “bi-partisanship” the R’s can muster. So then the D’s get the blame?
Well, I AM a democrat, and I can tell you now that we can’t WAIT for republicans to “come to their senses” about infrastructure! The seem to be locked into their idea that no one can guide this country but them, and, yet, when they have the helm, they steer the country toward authoritarianism.
It is not “my way or the highway”, nor is it “good people on both sides”.
We have bipartisanship in this country already – the vast majority of the country approves of the Biden plan – it just not popular in the republican side of Congress.
And America needs an infrastructure plan; to hell with Congress!
Gotta start with what you already have… besides, Qpublicans are against any new technology (like green initiatives) because they say it is “too expensive” (meaning they are worried about their status quo profits and are unable to take advantage of new opportunities)…
Instead of CO-OPERATING to make America great again, the repubs are still operating under Newt Gingrich’s admonishment to NOT work with the dems. Stonewall and attack, but NEVER co-operate. Keep it up until the repubs gain power again, then give another tax-cut to their sponsors.
Says it all, really. One has his sleeves rolled up and is getting on with the job. The other is a lazy, shiftless POS, interested only in exploiting others for gain.

I’m not a Democrat, but if we don’t give Biden a chance to fix our infrastructure – no one else will.

Having proper, safe infrastructure isn’t all about competing with the Chinese. It’s just good to have working roads, bridges, etc.

Have to love those classics. Infrustructure spending, an oldy, but a goody.

A new or repaired bridge in my county is infrastructure – in your county it might be socialism.

And how did it get so bad? Here’s a hint: Most of the degradation has been when the GOP had control.

The republican thieves and racists have no intention to rebuild the USA.

In two years American voters will vote for whoever makes the biggest promises, past history ignored. Some things never change.

Biden would be doing a much better repair job if Trump hadn’t gotten rid of so many tools and destroyed the ones he left.
