I wrote a letter like that to Santa one year, mostly because I honestly couldn’t think of anything I wanted, but also because my mother had used the ol’ “There are children starving in Africa!” line to make me eat my broccoli.
It’s sad that no one ever thinks you mean it, even when you do. :(
