As long as it’s on things people need rather than just giving money to the obscenely rich, I’m all for necessary spending!

Spending IS a function of government. Of course, what is being bought is ALSO a function of government. Liberals typically buy things that are good for the citizens. Conservatives typically — lately at least — buy things that the obscenely rich want.

PS Markstein is wrong: Biden is a Spend and tax administrator. Balanced books (in the long run), you know: A typical Democrat.

This could be an editorial cartoon of the way Republicans saw FDR. Where would the United States — the World — be today without Roosevelt’s push to dip into government resources to spend on infrastructure and social programs? FDR did Capitalism a big favor.

Yes, at last, a conservative who understands, who gets it. We need to spend money to make money.

Biden is not spending foolishly. He is investing in America. Don’t be a coward, have faith in our American greatness.

There are still those who cannot understand investments and ROI. Not having a results-oriented budget allows some to fool themselves into believing that austerity is the solution to all problems.

Actually, if Mr Markstein hadn’t titled the drawing, I would have thought it was Pence or a generic white older white man.

After four years of grift and greed, insider trading, and billing the taxpayer for his staff’s stays at the Rump’s own resorts, not to mention completely f’ing up the pandemic and creating the biggest deficit in history, seeing things getting done for average citizens is kind of a nice change. Especially since there’s a crap ton of things that need repair and attention with Rumpy the Clown just leaving Biden to be stuck with the check.

After decades of taking America’s hard-earned tax revenue and distributing it to the millionaires, billionaires and corporations, it’s about time that we took BAC some of our wealth and used it to aid the average American.

There is NOTHING in Biden’s Infrastructure Plan that won’t aid the average American in some way or another – at least we won’t be buying yachts, private jets and $200,000 Bugattis!

That’s right, Gary. We’ve neglected infrastructure & workers in order to keep taxes low for billionaires. Anyone who wants to seriously talk about deficit concerns needs to admit taxes that are lower than they’ve been for decades are a problem.

Why not have a crack at drawing Trump, or the Republican elephant with the words ‘Do nothing, do nothing’? Too hard. You obviously fail to understand the system whereby infrastructure serves the needs of ALL the citizens of a country. You also don’t get the fact that future generation helping to pay for infrastructure while it’s being used, makes good economic sense. Ever buy a car and pay it off, Gary? That’s paying for the infrastructure while you use it. Pretty simple, really.

Gary, do you think the roads will fix themselves?

If you DON’T spend money to fix things, what will happen?

They will deteriorate, crumble, and COST MORE.

Everybody who owns a car knows that putting off maintenance costs a LOT more than maintenance. Why don’t Republicans seem to know that?

By the way, those private corporations that you love so much USE the infrastructure to MAKE MONEY.

    Without highways, Amazon couldn’t EXIST.

Ya’ know, I don’t mind a guy whose total composition is made up with the word spend. As long as it is spent on the right things.

A lot better than then last guy, his total composition was made up of steal.
