Uh, oh…….! It’s “inky” from Frank Garvey’s Stinko Film Studio, and this time Tarzan will kill him. Another big, beautiful jungle cat is about to go down…..and he won’t be the only one.
yeah. Tarzan comics is, I think, from back in the day, and is environmentally way out of date… Tarzan in the comics kills a lot more big cats than in the books. And all species of big cat are endangered (and should not be killed by “big game hunters” ever, even if they aren’t endangered, because people who shoot animals just for fun are deplorable…they even kill giraffes, those people)…You can find some racism in the novel The Return of Tarzan, so I find ERB hard to like without any misgivings. And yet Tarzan and John Carter were great friends of my youth, growing up in the 60s. The badly named but otherwise very good movie John Carter is worth your time, if you haven’t seen it…I’m a writer, mostly novels, a few comics scripts here and there, and have dreamed of writing a Tarzan miniseries set in modern times (he’s immortal, you know, thanks to a sort of Fountain of Youth in, I think it was, Opar)where he kicks butt on African poachers of elephants and generally shows conservation concerns…
Another story about his immortality is that he saved the life of a witch doctor in an obscure village somewhere. Jane was also granted immortality. On Gor the slave girls are given a drink that grants them eternal youth and beauty.
Tarzan and Jane steal a handful of immortality pills in Tarzan’s Quest (1936), originally titled Tarzan and the Immortal Men in a 1935 magazine series. They also give one to the monkey, Nkima.
I think I member this from 2001: A Space Odysseus, except that it was a leopard, not a black panther, and Tarzan wasn’t due to show up for another 4 million years.

Will Tarzan treat the panther with the same lenience he showed Akut? Or will the scene continue the way it is in “The Beasts of Tarzan”?
