Don’t read this! It’s a sappy, though short, love story…. I was married in the late 60s, but it didn’t last long. I was young and dumb and frankly stupid. I ran the streets and was a bit player in the scene. We subsequently divorced. A few years older, not quite so dumb, i remarried. That lasted 33 years until she up and died on me. Two years later, my first wife contacted me about my will, and how i might consider leaving something to the child we had. I was happy to hear from her and catch up with each other. Short ending; we just bought a home and are closing on it next week. We’ll get married at some point, so I created a personal cliche, “The third time’s the charm, if it includes the first time again.”

One divorce: the marriage could have been a youthful mistake.
Two divorces: the second marriage might have been a rebound relationship.
Three (or more) divorces: maybe this person shouldn’t be married. That is not a great track record.
