I don’t believe in heaven or hell. But if heaven existed I would like to think of it as a place where every night I can see, for example, a Jimi Hendrix concert; I can listen the 43rd Gustav Mahler’s symphony; read the new books wrote by my favorite novelist, and so on. Apart to see my parents again and meet my ancestors.
I love all of Wileys Pearly Gates cartoons but am still waiting for the one that says something like “God created ALL mankind in his image and God requires that you love ALL of his creations. If you hate any race, colour, creed, religion or sexual orientation then you hate some of Gods creations and Gods images.”
Heaven works on telepathy. We’re all one and we’re all connected. Don’t need " social media ". On the other hand, the other place is run by the guys that invented social media
That’s sort of an odd thought. I was always of the opinion that Heaven was the ultimate social meeting place. Where souls could connect to all who had crossed the bridge before them and where all mysteries would be revealed. Egad! Heaven sort of sounds like my class reunion.
If there were a Heaven, I’d like to think that it wouldn’t have too many rules, just room for people to live their eternal afterlives in any way that suited them and didn’t hurt others. The social media types could hang out with each other, and I’d be off doing my own thing.
What interests me is the idea that they’ve brought their smart phones with them this far. Presumably they didn’t take any material objects with them, so does that imply that the smart phones have souls of their own? Does the trash can lead to phone heaven, or do all phones go to hell?
Today’s comic really hit home for me. Love it!! I am so tired of living in a world filled with social media/cell phones/no one speaking face to face. Makes me look forward to Heaven even more!!!
[GASP!] You mean … you mean … I’ll have to go and stand face to face with someone and actually talk to them in person without anonymity? What a HORRID thought!
Humans generally adapt to change poorly/slowly. It’s amazing the species has survived as long as it has. We could have worked this out by now if we weren’t human.
Sign me up! I hate having a mobile phone. It’s not on when I’m home and when I go out I see people send me texts and get upset when I don’t respond. Sheesh.
