Any business that uses a public highway is being subsidized by American taxpayers. Same with railroads and waterways, and airlines. It’s way past time for them to pay their share, and sc%$w their tax deductions.
I’m sitting here drinking my coffee made with water provided by my government. I took a nice walk today on sidewalks provided by my government. The power for my computer does come from a private company, but gets here through wires along rights-of-way provided by my government. I’ll drive to work today on roads with traffic lights provided by my government. I will use a cell phone today which is connected to a network owned by a private company that uses a frequency management plan provided by my government.
I am not worried about being invaded by Liechtenstein because we have an armed force provided by my government. I’ll be out of state next month and I can still use the money in my wallet because there is a standard for currency provided by my government.
Now, I’m a big fan of my government if by government you mean the entity set up by the Constitution. I have serious doubts as to the quality and motivations of some of the people who we hired to run the organization. I am also in disagreement with some of their interpretations of that the Constitution is saying.`
There are some things that a big, lumbering, government can do better than smaller, local governments or individuals can do.
I remember when a bridge collapsed in KY. Moscow Mitch couldn’t care less. His wife’s family’s shipping line is the only infrastructure he cares about.
The cost in lives and money and to the environment when infrastructure fails are far too high too continue to ignore the problems. Plus private companies need to be held responsible for the damages they do. Examples: the reservoir in Florida is on private property but the taxpayers have to foot the bill, Superfund site clean-ups at former mines and quarries should be funded by the owners, not taxpayers.

Quick: Order one of those Amazon quadcopter-delivered parachutes. Pay extra for next-second delivery.
PS: he should have seen the warning signs, but he had his nose in his phone, right?

Republicans dig in their oppositional stance as the country plummets to its death.

And if a major infrastructure is enacted who do you think will take credit for it? The orange twit that did nothing but talk about it for four years.

I wonder if that bridge is just a bit downstream from the dam in Florida that’s about to collapse. . . .

Why are Republicans against making the USA a first grade country?
They want to keep us poor and stupid so they can subjugate us.
