Odd how people are upset about a business making a business decision, while those same people are not upset about a State inhibiting a basic Constitutional right… and usually those same people also claim that they think businesses should be allowed to make their decisions without outside pressure…

Umpires are accused of being blind. In Georgia the Republikkkan ‘players’ have gone blind to the majority of voters in Georgia. In 1957 the State of Georgia adopted “GEORGIA” as their State Song written by Ray Charles, a blind Black native of Georgia, who could see hate and bigotry towards those like himself. Maybe today Ray Charles would sing “Hit The Road Jack” to the Republikkkan leaders there ? Wonder if Ray Charles was ever able to vote . . . /S

Chinese state media reported on April 1 the extended and expanded TV contract between Major League Baseball and China. (So the MLB must think it’s OK that China is carrying out crimes against humanity and genocide against the Uyghurs? That 21 century concentration camps with over 1000000 people is not as serious as Georgia’s requirement that voters write a driver’s license number or other identifier on absentee-ballot envelopes? (BTW: Ohio, the state where the last All-Star Game was played, has a similar absentee-ballot rule.)

So I guess the MLB will have to move out of New York because New York doesn’t have no-excuse absentee voting and Georgia does. NY offers fewer days of early voting than Georgia, and NY has its own law against giving food and drink to voters.

Another funny way of showing your concern for alleged “voting restrictions” is by moving the All-Star Game to a state that in many ways has voting laws at least as stringent as Georgia’s. To vote in Colorado, a person needs photo identification, just as they do at the will-call window at Coors Field. Like Colorado, Georgia allows voters without ID to use the last four digits of their Social Security number, a bank statement or utility bill, a paycheck, or any other government document with their name and address. Though ID requirements are the provision Democrats hate most, they are broadly popular among voters, which is why they are compelled to use hyperbole and disinformation when talking about the rest of these laws.

MLB’s decision will hurt the very people the league is purporting to support. The game was going to bring economic activity to Atlanta, which is a majority-black city. It would have meant money for hotel and restaurant employees, hot-dog and T-shirt vendors, and other shift workers. Now the game will be in a city with only 9.8% blacks. #AllStarGameSoWhite
