Hopefully the Martian kids didn’t get the jack-in-the-box with the scary clown.

Why not, there’s a similar oddity we sent to Mars, called Perseverance. Maybe MASA (Martian Air and Space Association) sent a rover to earth.

I assumed his brothers made it.

But there is an Earth jack-in-the-box running around on Mars! It’s got an arm that sticks out with a camera that goes “click”, and another pointing down with a drill that goes “whirr.” It runs around on big knobby wheels and even has a whirlygig that pops out and flies through the air!!

And it’s name is Perseverance.

And it plays Oboe as well as Petey!

You think it’s just a Martian toy, Dill; but really it’s the tip of the coming invasion, a reconnaissance scout!
