I was kidding when I mentioned her getting a Z awhile back. Where in the world did that come from?

If sideways the other way, Peppermint Patty’s grade would be a И in the Cyrillic alphabet.

Two more “Z’s” and the teacher could have indicated that you put her to sleep…

In some Math classes, when the Instructor runs out of Letters of the English alphabet, he/she starts using Greek letters.

Sally once did a report and asked C.B. what grade he thought she’d get…he said “do they give out Zs?”

Wait, she couldn’t tell she was holding the paper sideways? I think she has bigger problems to worry about than grades.

Ah, never thought of it before. She’s not getting a Z, the teacher’s not allowed to write 0 on the paper. Or to write out Zero. The Z just stands for 0.

In elementary school (seems like a million years ago), our grading system consisted of S+ (Superior?), S (Satisfactory), N (Needs Improvement), and U (Unsatisfactory). I hadn’t thought of this system in years.
