The NRA may have started as an organization to teach proper use and handling of guns, but it has become a major lobbying arm of the firearms industry.

The politicians must be saddened to hear the NRA filed for Bankruptcy. Their usual campaign contribution may be in doubt if they want to take NRA money now.

“OK, I’ll take that deal. Let’s regulate guns the way we regulate alcohol and cars. You got to be 21, you got to pass a test to get a license, you got to have a registration and insurance for your gun. If you move to a new state, you got to do the whole damn thing all over again. And you can’t go out loaded.” — STEPHEN COLBERT

Here’s a question: since board members and officers of the NRA bankrupted the organization by using hundreds of millions of organization money for their personal use, where did the NRA get millions of dollars to donate to the Trump campaign? Could it be they were funneling foreign money to the GQP? Remember, they had a lot of activity going to Russia to promote 2nd Amendment type “Rights” and had an attractive Russian spy active in NRA activities.

More thorough background checks, including a mental health diagnosis, and at least a 10 day waiting period would be a good start. And using the red flag laws available in states that have them would save many lives.

johnbaggett is an ignorant fool who knows nothing about how responsible people maintain order. He is clearly open to accept the high rate of gun-related suicide in this nation for the privilege of shooting down someone who may have knocked at his door at the wrong time. For his sake, I do hope that no one in his family decides it’s time to pull the trigger in a moment of despair.
