As usual, “liberals” only focus on the tool the shooter used and not the reason why the shooter acted. I guess it’s easier that way. Lazy assholes.

The fact that millions of American have millions of guns, with Boebert as an example, with with a total murder rate (including guns and non guns) in the bottom half of world murder rates shows guns aren’t the problem. It’s who has the guns (Switzerland has a high gun owner rate, with lower murder rate than most of Europe too). And most of the top 20 murder rate countries are gun controlled. Look it up, or is your mind made up before you know the facts?

I keep hearing from the right that it’s a mental health issue and not a gun issue. But I’m pretty sure keeping guns out of the hands of mentally ill people with violent tendencies (and anyone with violent tendencies could be classified as mentally ill) would reduce gun deaths. So — background checks should help. If you’ve ever been arrested for violence, you don’t qualify for a gun. If you’ve ever been hospitalized for attempted suicide, no gun. And of course, that would have to go for the entire household.

Interesting fact: one of the victims donated money to an anti-gun control organization. Which doesn’t help any of the other victims.

“OK, I’ll take that deal. Let’s regulate guns the way we regulate alcohol and cars. You got to be 21, you got to pass a test to get a license, you got to have a registration and insurance for your gun. If you move to a new state, you got to do the whole damn thing all over again. And you can’t go out loaded.” — STEPHEN COLBERT

The TWITS OF Qanon! Disruptive, contributes NOTHING, AND THE STANDARDS AND PRE-requisites to being a member has lowered to the lowest level EVER! Instead of getting better and improving the system, it’s in the potty now! They’re in the same class as Jim Jordan, Cruz, Graham, Mitch, Paul, and the other ignorant peabrains running America in the ground! They want to bring back the 19 century way of life…shoot-em-up, string them up, bang bang society! Sickening to say the least!

Just when I thought I’d seen the unfathomable depths sheer raw idiocy can sink to………The intelligent comparison is comparing the USA murder rate to the rate in other modern industrialized democracies and obviously NOT to the world as a whole. The world as a whole has plenty of countries in the throes of civil wars or other unrest, plenty of countries with no real central government (failed states), plenty of countries run by drug cartels, and so forth. When you contrast the USA with other developed countries, you find our none-firearms murder rate is somewhere around theirs, whereas our firearms murder (and suicide) rates are far higher. No, guns by themselves aren’t the problem. (For example, I own a few myself.) But their easy availability to pretty much anybody (with a wink wink approach to asking if a given person should be allowed to buy one) IS the goddam problem.

Besides, if everybody had automatic weapons then bullets could have been flying everywhere… if innocents got hit, that’s merely collateral damage… besides, any never-Trumpers who get hit are good riddance… /s

The same way it happens EVERY SINGLE DAY. (Seriously: “Despite the social distancing, curfews and quarantines, mass shootings actually went up in 2020. According to the Gun Violence Archive, the number rose nearly 50% from 2019.”) https://www.npr.org/2021/03/24/980894439/mass-shootings-rose-in-the-pandemic-disproportionately-hurting-black-neighborhoo

Lauren Boebert arrest June 2015 for being drunk and fighting with the police at a music festival. Dec 2015 arrested for failure to appear.

July 2016 arrested for reckless driving. Feb 2017 arrested for failure to appear.

Did you see Boebert’s video address with guns behind her, and the one right after the Colorado shooting has the guns removed.

Election suppressing republican liars and scofflaws are the biggest threat to the majority of Americans.
