I have been searching for a source of the red my car is supposed to be, and they want hundreds of dollars for it. I think I will just go to the hardware store and get some industrial safety red.
Had a friend with a ‘48 Dodge pickup. He got sandpaper at the hardware store, sanded the whole truck, then painted it with Rustoleum fire engine red, using a 1" & 4" brush. You had to be within arm’s reach to see even faint brush marks. It was beautiful.

I can see it now. My wife asking me which color I like best and I get in trouble when I say red.
