Now we entered post World War II – and there’s Phyllis (The late wife of Walt)!

It looked like it was only going to be Walt and Skeezix until today. It still could be a belated 100th birthday salute for Skeezix, as someone suggested earlier.

I love the vintage way Phyllis is drawn. I’m not sure what makes it vintage… the half lidded eye and neck angle, maybe? But she looks like a mature former flapper and it’s great.

Is Walt going to die? He’s seeing his life pass before his eyes…Is this his send off…

Wow, so going at a rate of 3-4 years per day, this dream sequence should go until about May 1st for it to catch up with the modern day. (take my math with a grain of salt though, as it was never my favorite subject.) It really illustrates how unnaturally old Walt is.

Oh Boy! Now the nifty fifty’s, Senator Joe McCarthy, The space race, Peace Corps. You still have a lot to go.

These quick and selective flashbacks are becoming a bit disconcerting, given what such developments often suggest here in the so-called real world.

Slim and Clovia are now at the same stage Walt and Phyllis were in the early 70s but they were drawn more maturely.

Jim misspelled Skeezix’ name? How is that possible?
