Incompetence means not being able to do something right. It does NOT mean fixing a problem faster than is humanly possible. Particularly when it’s an intractable problem that’s been an intractable problem for decades.
… has it that the Immigration agent who snidely suggested Havahart traps at the southern border would be a more humane option …no longer has his job. (Joe Biden sent his dog Major down there after him.)
Let’s look at it this way. Under Trump no one was allowed to visit the detention centers. Now they are. At least we aren’t hiding our dirty little secrets.
I agree with Ted that the Biden administration has been caught flat-footed by this crisis, in retrospect one might have anticipated a surge at the border after Biden started to undo all the Draconian measures that the Trump administration implemented in his 4 years of blatantly abusing the civil rights of many. I mean the minute people knew Biden was in office, many saw it as a green light to go for the border. The scum who smuggle these individuals, many young children and teens to the border also saw an opportunity to profit and jumped on it. I think the Biden gang showed a bit of naivety and thus a bit of incompetence by not foreseeing this outcome as well as thinking that this issue would not be reported by all the press, not just the usual crackpots of at Breitbart and Fox. Of course the far right press and the Repubbas will call this out as a crisis and go after Biden but other more level headed journalistic venues have also weighed in and they make a good point:
I agree with the sentiment of these fairly written articles. Biden inherited a bad, horrible situation, and perhaps he has not responded as quickly as many would like and perhaps some transparency will go a long way as well as just admitting it is a crisis, albeit one not created by Biden but festering away south f the border after years of Trump’s policies.
Irrational, even by Rallf’s right-wing standards. Tramp and his family as examples of competence? Bizzare, if one begins with Jarhead, on to Iwanna, then….where to stop? Take your meds, Rallf, then go away.
If the Biden administration was not working to correct situations needing addressing, Mr. Rall, that would be incompetence and Trumpian. None of the issues are easily nor quickly fixed and to expect them to be solved already is not fair nor accurate.
Ted takes all the (rightful) anger about kids in cages, and draws some cartoon about adults in cages. What to bait and switch, making this cartoon pretty close to a lie. The cages for kids are gone. The policy of tearing families apart is gone.
Welcome to Captain Pikes United States…WERE NUMBER 86, WERE NUMBER 86 !!!, nice to see ICE under Cpt. Pike has a dental plan that fixed the Guards fangs.
Looks like it would be impossible to make the ess-hole countries more economically viable places to live that people wouldn’t be so desperate to leave them. As an economic and military bloc; from the tippy top of Alaska to the most southern tip of Argentina, we should be some kind of united entity as in being our own European sort of union. Too bad this one huge continuous land mass can’t have unity.
I agree with Donnie; people leave _ess-hole" countries for greener pastures. I hear Venezuela used to be a good place to live and work in.

Subtle commentary that the ICE guy looked heavier, smiling and had fangs when it was Trump in charge.

Notice how the ICE agent is smiling in the photo on the left and not on the right. That’s telling. What are you trying to say?

As David Cohen said, “Dude, how come every thing isn’t fixed yet.” (That could be a portrait of Rall.)

Perhaps a new Marshall Plan for America after the defeat of one of the nations greatest enemy, Trump and his obedient followers.

For real solutions, we’ll need Congress, not just the President. This problem has been brewing for decades; it cannot be wiped away overnight.
