The stuff worked better as drain-o than a beverage.

toss your “clos du Roger” away, Roger; it’s bound to be still undrinkable if it’s eating through the glass

Ah, yes, the wine Jason coerced Roger into making as repercussions towards Andy for not being allowed to play Diablo II.

In college, my roommates and I made alcoholic cider, once. Turns out the trick is to forget you bought non-alcoholic cider until you clean up the room months later.

Wine that turns into hydroflouric acid isn’t reckoned to be too tasty in most circles.

I was into home brewing for a spell. Made a lot of good beer. A couple of batches, though, tasted like anti freeze. That’s when I learned about “fusils” and making sure it fermented in a temperature controlled place!

I thought it was a clever name, but according to google, “Clos Du Roger” translates to “closed from.”

I used to help my next-door-neighbor & his family make wine every year (last time we put up 974 bottles). We would, of course, drink it while bottling, and it was great; open a bottle and not so much……..

My Brother-In-Law was a big NASCAR fan and he had some 6 packs of soda with drivers pictures on them unopen. He notice that one or two cans started to leak. He wrote the company and they said that the soda was eating it’s way through the can. They told him the only way to fix it was to drink it.

The only thing I know of that eats through glass is hydrofluoric acid. It has to be stored in certain types of plastic containers.

Sounds like a pretentious little wine, with notes of melting teeth.

My parents used to make homemade wine from winemaking kits. It was pretty good. Then my dad started growing his own grapes. Note: we live in Minnesota, and this was before the introduction of Frontenac, so the varieties were . . . somewhat limited. Our suburban terroir may have been a bit dubious as well, although the grapes were certainly tasty to eat. I helped my dad make a very small run of three and a half bottles from what we harvested that first year. Later, he and I opened the first bottle. I have a very clear memory of the two of us standing in the kitchen. He poured us each a small glass. We each swirled it, sniffed it, then took a sip, and then, without saying a single word, simultaneously poured the rest down the sink.

    It was hilariously awful. ;-)

I can see it. I got a bunch of special, colored, commemorative sodas for a college championship when I was a kid, and saved one six-pack of the cans, never drank them. Twenty years later, it ate through the aluminum and leaked all over the place.
