Like so many things here, it’s funny because it’s true!

Only believe the weather you SEE and the thermometer on your wall.

Thermometer (noting Qiset’s valuable point above) gives best reading for where you are, weather app probably gives the best reading for the nearest weather station, and who cares about the rest.

“I know it doesn’t matter” – I wish I’d hear that in connection with all those petty rants more often, that concept is way too rare.

I have two weather stations, both properly calibrated, separated by about 100 yards. We regularly see temperature differences of two or three degrees. Their barometers can even be split by as much as 0.1 inches of mercury.

Don’t believe the weather channel; 20% chance of rain just means; maybe it will, maybe it won’t! [Same for 80%]

Since the sources are all miles from each other they all can be different and be right at the same time.

The official temperature for my area is over by the airport. It’s about five miles away and in the flats, so the temperature never matches my weather station.

They’re all measuring the temperature at different places.

I have 2 indoor-outdoor thermometers with sensors 1 foot apart and they very seldom agree.

A man with a watch knows what time it is. A man with 2 watches is never quite sure.

i so agree with that. i just step out the back door to check the temp myself to see how the air feels.

The really irritating bit is the TV weatherman disagreeing with the temperature in the little logo bug in the corner of the screen. The least the TV station could do is have him, I dunno, LOOK AT THE SCREEN FOR A SPLIT SECOND AND SAY THE SAME DANG NUMBER. Ohhhh, My OCD is killin’ me.

I can see several different weather situations just on my drive to work, doesn’t surprise me that there isn’t a technology that can keep up with it

My Cable Provider has two Screensavers, “Landscapes” and “Pets”, which also show the time and temperature. I also have a smaller TV, and when I have both TVs set to screensavers, sometimes the temperatures are as much as 4 degrees different!

I use the one that’s most consistently right, and even that one is obviously wrong some times. The other day it said the high for the day will be 67, current temperature 70. :-/

I only believe rain forecasts when I look outside and it’s raining. Our local weather stations predict rain in hundredths of an inch! That’s a heavy dew!!!

Weather is fun…. for example: one day I was driving west when I stopped for a red light. On my side of the cross street it was clear and sunny. On the other side of the cross street there was a full blown white out going on. There was practically a line down the middle of the cross street where the snow started. Unfortunately for me, my work was to the west and when the light changed I got to drive into the blizzard. It was a weird day all around… 8^)
