Hmmm. I am…. I guess…. not as familiar with the extreme Right’s current symbols as I thought…. is that a real flag design they now use, and if so, what pray-tell is it supposed to mean? And what is that symbol on the flag? It looks sort of like a phage. What is that?
In general, partisan politics is for show. Commitment to ideas is usually skin deep if that. It’s easy for pundits to stake out the higher intellectual ground. They want to intellectualize about politics. Politics is all about emotional manipulation. The thing that a lot of pundits ignore is that the effects of the emotional manipulation are real.
I remember several years ago seeing a video on You Tube (which has since disappeared) composed of clips of Fox pundits castigating Obama’s actions and saying what he should do instead, followed by Fox legal experts saying why the actions pushed by the pundits was illegal.

I don’t think the rich and powerful view us as sub-human or human. Most of the time they don’t even think about us. They just don’t care.

Elections have consequences, and power corrupts. Why is this still a surprise after all this time?
