A lot of traditional nursery rhymes and stories were originally intended for adults and were watered down and changed to make them suitable for children.
I was in a meeting where someone said – “It isn’t that people fear or resist change, people change all the time – they learn hobbies, they change careers, they lose weight, they date new people, get divorced … all the time. What they resist is BEING CHANGED by others.”
That isn’t really how I interpreted Jack and the Beanstalk. The main thing I learned was … don’t fall for the marketing. When things go wrong because you DID fall for the marketing – be resourceful because you can make it worse or better, it matters what you do when your options suck.

You know, it’s unusual to see or hear that meaning of “blow” in the past tense.
