I think that we should remove all statues that venerate individuals, persons of particular interest. No matter how good their accomplishments at one time, they have a past that may one day be seen as representing something evil. Even the saints of the church had lives that often were not saintly. Even Abraham lied twice to protect his skin when a Pharaoh desired his wife, Sarai. Let us, instead, put up statues of a more abstract nature that venerates the ideals of our people, a statue we can all look up to now and in the future.
THE NERVE! Back people want to remove the statues white supremacists erected to celebrate white supremacist traitors who rebelled against against their government because they were not going to be allowed to keep black people as slaves. SOME PEOPLE!
LOL! Some fool says that because the party name was National Socialist Workers Party, they were hard core socialists. I guess that means that all those communist countries with names including the word Democratic were really democracies!
Hitler was working for the German military as an intelligence agent when he first attended meetings of what became the Nazi party. The army had trained him to be an orator, and they ordered him to join the party.
The party name “National German Workers’ Party” had Socialist added to it (over Hitler’s objections) to attract left wing elements. I suspect that the Army told Hitler to let it remain so. But Hitler was never a socialist.
Mein Kampf introduced the concept of “the BIG LIE”. Joseph Goebles propagated it in Germany. Newt Gingrich started using it here in the good old U S of A, where the GOP learned it worked well with a certain sector of the population. Rush Limbaugh became a VERY RICH MAN using the technique. The Tea Party was spawned and morphed into MAGAmania, and we are now living with the CONSEQUENCES.
WHAT???!!! More lies & non-sequiturs from the #$%^&* right. ProgreSSive? Never stand up in court. Were the end of slavery, legal Jim Crow, child labor laws, women’s suffrage, to name a few, NAZI? M R is closer …
I’m pretty much of the opinion that public statues of politicians should be against the rules. Or maybe like a kind of copyright thing, they should not be allowed to put up a statue of any politician who died less than 100 years ago…
Boston Museum founder Moses Kimball donated the bronze recasting of the original Ball statue to the city in 1879. The replica will be placed in temporary storage while the city figures out “a new publicly accessible location where it could be better explained,” Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said in a statement this month. Temporary storage while the city figures out “a new publicly accessible location where it could be better explained,” get it Mikey? It’s not been removed forever

Why not get rid of statues altogether? I’d be willing to bet that the majority of people have no idea who the person in the is anyway.

Let them play with their golden idol for now for he will soon be busy with many civil lawsuits. Stay tuned; there is more to come.

400 years ago Puritans left England because of Catholic influences in the COE.
Catholic adoration of the Saints and their statues was one of the Puritan complaints. They saw it as idol worship.
Here we are, 400 years later, still arguing about statues.
It’s a piece of rock, Mike. We venerate the good in the man, not the statue.

Bozo has the Trump hair but needs a bigger middle.

Did you see the Maga’s were spraying Black Flag poisons as a weapon against the police during the right wing riot against the Capitol of the USA?

For some clarity from the dumbest post here. Hitler was not a Socialist. Just like the Republicans he knew how to spin a word to his benefit.

Wouldn’t a ‘Bozo’ statue be more appropriate in Ramirez’s Las Vegas or the Inciter-in-Chief’s West Palm Beach?

A statue of Beetlejuice would be appropriate for the mayor of Chicago
