“That Phoney Nickel” was the first ‘topper’ strip for Frank King’s Gasoline Alley strip, running from late 1930 to 1933. The concept was that the same worthless coin was spent each week, and then whoever got stuck would find a way to palm it off on a new sucker the following week.
1. Poor Bozo does multiple jobs to make ends meet.
2. That’s all that is that’s Bozo’s possessions. It’s a moving tale, folks.
3. Well, at least you don’t has to go hungry in jail.
Although Bozo’s been in trouble before, the last one is perhaps one of the rare sad ones where he has to beg for money and gets into trouble because an evil crook who gives him phoney money.

Beautiful comics which is more beautifully drawn with details and perspectives than any other funnies, Bozo a rare gem of superior quality content. It would be a crime if I don’t appreciates this splendid comic. A big thumbs and a big applause for Foxo’s picturesque pantomime, a marvellous masterpiece called Bozo. A wonderful wordless wonder indeed.
1) Stacked to the Rafters: One of Bozo’s numerous jobs over the years is as a waiter who can not only give a dense stack of food and drinks one-handed, he can deal them out without a flaw. He finds another use when he goes shopping carrying a large stack of small boxes also in that same hand.
2) Moving Matters: A moving company is summoned, a huge truck. However all Bozo has all he owns in a bindle nothing else! Puzzlement abounds. ???
3) Rich Man’s Junk: Bozo asks for a much needed quarter for dinner. An obvious rich fellow gives it to him and later he finds out it is fake!
