700 hundred gazillion dollars to photograph sand and rocks. There’s a rock quarry five miles from my house. How much would NASA pay me for some photos of rocks? I’ll throw a few sand photos in as a bonus…no extra charge.
Well, if it wasn’t for NASA and their related research and technological developments, you MIGHT be looking at this on a 10" black and white screen that only lights up after all the vacuum tubes in your 500 Pound “Home Computer” warm up, provided you have the correct reel to reel program tapes running through the system.
The space program science has created many jobs and so many things that has made our lives better.Jobs, every project needs aluminum, paper clips, floor sweep, steel, computers, copper, and on and on. Someone has to mine the ore, run the furnaces, drive the trucks and trains to deliver supplies all over.Polyester clothing, almost everything digital, your watches, computers, cell phones, cars, trucks, household goods, tools, WD-40, microwave ovens, the list is endless. No matter what the cost for anything space-wise is worth the cost. It’s pretty cheap if you ask me.I like it. I’m 81 and remember what life was like pre-space. It sucked.

Don’t forget to smile for the camera… Why do I hear the voice of the mother bear from the Charmin commercial?

The NASA folks would be doing hand springs and throwing hats if even a proto-critter turned up, much less a LGM… with tools!

So far, it seems that thing might have landed in the Australian Outback.
