I read an article about new vs. old Vegas in Spy magazine years ago. Essentially, the point was the mobs may have been killers, but they were human. The corporations aren’t even that.
I used to work for Warner (early 80s, when they owned Atari) and shady stuff was definitely happening. There was an office in New York City where paychecks went, but no one was actually working there. Lots of merchandise ordered from factories in Taiwan but never delivered. Visits from spooky execs with even spookier assistants (and bodyguards).

I’ve only been to Las Vegas (NV) once; on a family trip to California when I was 10 years old. The one thing I remember is stopping for breakfast at a Howard Johnson restaurant and they had a couple of 10¢ slot machines in the foyer. I only got to pull the handle one time before a waitress ran over rather forcefully informed me I was too young.
I made my first trip to Vegas in 1975 at 15 with my Dad. We had dinner at the Jolly Trolley on the Strip after eating we hit the Topless Club the best 8hrs of my young life. No one asked me for a ID the entire 10 days I roamed the Strip while my Dad worked building the Maxium Hotel. I loved the old vegas but find the Amusement Park version silly and think they are moving away from roller coasters back to a grown up destination, I haven’t been in a few years it will be interesting post covid to see how Vegas plays it.
I vaguely remember an earlier Vegas story arc in which Duke and Honey encountered “Dr. Sinatra” (“You Little Bimbo!”) (unless those were two separate arcs).

“Who is this broad, Jiminy Cricket?”
I don’t know if that arc ended with Duke having a price put on his head (as mentioned yesterday) or if said price was put there during an untold adventure of Duke, while the strip was focused on other characters instead of him.
If Earl’s mom was a stripper, wouldn’t he know all about “showgirls” by now? Surprised he didn’t end up in the business himself when his mom owed money to her drug dealer or pimp: blonde boys can fetch quite a nice price. Or was he in foster care by then? The difference being he wouldn’t have been getting paid like if he was being a rent boy.
