BS, we have wind farms out here in the flatlands and at -40c they keep working.

FACT – there are windfarms in Antarctica. Cold isn’t a problem if something is built properly.

FACT – Texas’ power predominantly comes from natural gas, not wind. The recent problems was due to natural gas providing drastically less energy than expected.

FACT – Payne’s comic is misleading and blatantly wrong (as usual)

I see that Stupid Henry Payne is trying to push that vastly debunked lie. How stupid is he to try and push it a week after it was debunked? Pretty stupid, if you ask me. But then, he wouldn’t be known as Stupid Henry Payne otherwise.

From what I understand, if the turbines had been winterized, this wouldn’t have happened.

Sure, it’s wind turbines’ fault that they were not winterized… and it’s wind turbines’ fault that there was such a wide power outage despite only being expected to provide 7% of the power…

The fact that burning oil, which is in limited supply and might be needed for other purposes escapes people like Henry. Wait until he has to buy gasoline that started out as coal. The Germans, in WW2, had to do that. A measure most desperate.

How do idiots like Payne get away with this nonsense?

Wind power works fine in Iceland and Norway. Texas power companies went cheap with wind just as they did with natural gas production. They protected neither from the cold they hoped would never come. They only had ten years of repeated warnings.

Wind farms are generating just fine here in Illinois all winter. Most of the time when you see any not moving, they were shut down as there was no demand for their energy at that time.

Payne wouldn’t know truth if it was all there was to see.

Wind power that only provided 10% of power to the overall grid is responsible for the failure of the other 90% provided by fossil fuels in the leading fossil fuel state in America. This Right Wing argument is hilarious.

I agree. Only an idiot believes Abbot’s ridiculous claim that it was wind turbine failures that caused this. I’m getting so sick of his idiocy.

The crisis wasn’t due to where the power came from, it was due to avoiding spending the money to winterize the electrical plants. Wind, gas AND oil plants froze — if just the wind farms froze Texas still would have had about 75% of their power. Political cartoons lambasting Biden and/or his policies are fair game. However, this isn’t about political policy, it is assigning blame to promote a political agenda and/or avoid blame for the suffering. Political cartoons being political are often partisan and that’s ok, but they are only funny if they are based on TRUTH. This is not.
