Give it a rest Chip. The windmills were the least of the problems.

Bok has been paying too much attention to Carlson and none to reality. The problem was NOT with wind turbines “icing up”" but with controls on the natural gas, coal and nuclear plants which were not winterized. THEY FROSE UP. Like a few other extreme rightwing cartoonist, Bok NEVER lets truth get in the way of a rant. He should have drawn something about Texas not maintaining the equipment they do have.

We know Chip doesn’t want to address the deregulation and legalization of profiteering which led to the Texas energy crisis.

He should post all of his comics like he did at first on the 20th. That way his lies are harder to see.

Is this the week trump is going to release his plans on infrastructure weak? Maybe it will be the week he releases his new replacement for the ACA. It has been 2 weeks hasn’t it.

Since Bok is repeating the lies, I will repeat the truth from last week:

I knew the right-wing cartoonists were going to regurgitate the BS that the Republican politicians and Faux News pushed that Green energy was to blame for the power outages in Texas. Their heads would explode if they bothered to look for the truth. So, let’s start with the facts:

88% of electric power in Texas is provided by natural gas and coal power; 7% by wind. The remainder by solar or nuclear. As this article in the Texas Tribune succinctly puts it: “Texas is a gas state…”

Baghdad Bok is still repeating debunked propaganda. Wind turbines had very little to do with the power failure. It was all on the incompetence of ERCOT, cutting corners to save a buck and increase profits. Bok, QUIT LYING.

This isn’t a green energy problem, this is a Texas problem, a deregulation problem. Where infrastructure is well regulated and well funded, it works. Simple as that.

AOC raised $5 million for Texas, while Ted Cruz was shamed into handing out water. Mr. Bok, you did a cartoon slamming Ted, but I woulda thought AOC deserved some acknowledgment…

I, for one, do not believe Chip believes what he believes other people believe.

Chip has a smallish but solid audience, guaranteeing him steady income for as long as he panders to them. He sells his soul along with his art.

Nothing was winterized, although we went through this 10 years ago and were told that we need to winterize our heat sources. Windmills are winterized in Canada, and they work just fine in freezing weather. It is all the fault of the Republicans who govern this state. In fact, they don’t govern. They just collect a fat salary

Gee, Bok, there are wind turbines across the country, even in (gasp!) places where snow falls! They manage to keep on working through the cold and sleet, so what’s the deal with the Texas machinery? Oh yeah, there are no regulations so they cheated out and didn’t weatherize their equipment like any non-idiot would.

Has No-Show Joe gone to visit TX yet? And why does the federal disaster fiat only cover less than half of the counties in the state despite the request by Gov. Abbott to declare the entire state? Just a couple of questions that would have been bandied about ad nauseum if we were still dealing with the previous occupant.

I suspect, now that a Repub state has had problems with its infrastructure, they’ll be ready to support a bill to repair it. Typical. States that have bitter cold all the time, like Nebraska and Michigan, take precautions with their infrastructure to protect it from the bitter cold. Texas and other southern states aren’t used to it. But, with effects of climate change, we’re about to.

Sure, it’s Biden’s fault (and the faults of all alternate energy and pollution decreasing advocates) that Texas failed to winterize their energy systems… that Texas decided to isolate its power grid from the rest of the country so it couldn’t receive power from outside if it had problems… and that Trump’s “Infrastructure Week” never arrived…

Funny, our wind turbines in Northern Illinois, where it’s been far colder, and a lot more snow, have been working just fine. Weird, isn’t it?

Bet the Texans that drive up to Chicago via I55, I see their license plates, must be amazed to see wind turbines working in sub zero temps and heavy snows.

Bok, don’t you know that the earth has a limited amount of fossil fuels, and eventually we will run out? Then what? We need to be developing renewable energy sources NOW!, not after fossil fuels are depleted.

That’s a really good cartoon image of Texas Gov. Abbott and his gas and windmill problems. But its really unfair to blame him for the Boeing engine failure….as well.
